Step 01: Block in the basic BG Colour. I began working on the BG.
Step 02: Painting the mountains, establishing the lighting.
Step 03: More mountain painting, as well as making adjustments and alterations.
Step 04: More Mountain painting - especially the middle ground.
Step 06: establishing cloud formation, mist and middle ground layout.
Step 07: At this point I begin painting the foreground.
Step 08: Painting the foreground whilst make further adjustments of the landscape.
Step 09: Now I begin painting the majestic wolf.
Step 10: Complete the painting.

One of my greatest affinities of painting are landscapes; I love painting them for their dynamic range of natural elements, composition and colour, as well as the many challenges they present.
There is just something cathartic about painting landscapes. Of course it was an excuse to take a small break from painting folklore. 😅
Anyway, the wolf completes the painting, giving it life and purpose, I hope, haha! I had to redo the wolf a few times due to painting inconsistencies, so I hope the wolf looks accurate against the backdrop.
