Step 03: At this point I have a rough Idea on the thickness/density of the woods or forest. I applied three layers to the background forest: light or faded foliage, followed by medium-light, then finally dark vegetation/increased density.
Step 04: Continuing the background; still working out the density of the foreground trees.
Step 05: The background is more-or-less done.
Step 06: At this point I begin to paint Reynard the Fox. I forgot to capture the earlier stages of the process. I do apologise for that. Here I've painted his tail, cloak, paws and partially is face.
Step 07: The painting is hereby complete. His face, the front rock and his coin purse or bag.
The trickster fox from English folklore, Reynard the Fox. Truth be told I didn’t quite finish the speed run; I painted for about 10 hours straight throughout the night until my bed beckoned me to sleep, lol! I also took off yesterday from painting, thus I finished it today. There are still a few issues here and there but I’ll tend to them later. Enjoy!
Edit: Reynard the Fox is an important figure across northwestern European cultures, though his origins are from France and Flanders.
